MTB E458.0 – CSD Electric locomotive, DC

Model of a E 458.0 (110) series electric shunting locomotive in the paint scheme from 1992-2000. Equipped with a Next 18 DCC interface.

The E 458.0 (110) electric locomotive was manufactured in 1971 as the first type of second-generation ŠKODA locomotive, with the intention of replacing diesel shunting locomotives in stations. After successful testing, 53 units were produced in 1972/3. This was followed by the improved E458.1 series, where shunting speed control was replaced by thyristor power switching with 35 locomotives produced by 1982. Locos are also used for light track service.

The basic product includes an improved PCB with an integrated DCC decoder.
Model is equipped with improved trucks including ball bearings for smooth run with low current consumption.
