INFORMATION ABOUT THE MODEL
After the end of the war, there was a great shortage of vehicles for baggage cars for long-distance express trains. However, the young DB decided to use the available funds for the construction of new passenger coaches and to solve the luggage wagon problem on the basis of conversions. To do this, she used the approximately 600 makeshift passenger cars that had remained in her inventory after the end of the war. These were no longer reasonable to expect the travelers due to their interior design and the mediocre running characteristics. Two of these car bodies were connected, fitted with trusses and placed on two American-style bogies. The 290 baggage trolleys that were created from 1950 onwards were designated as MPw4ie-54/55 and MPw4yg-57.
