Wiking 008402 – Opel Commodore A Coupé Rüsselsheim sports sedan in premium paint

Racy Opel Commodore A with black coupé roof. Possessing the legendary Rüsselsheim engine power, the Opel Commodore A in its coupé version stood for sportiness. The top-of-the-line engine alone, with a 2.8-liter displacement and 150 hp, transformed the otherwise rather staid coupé into a racing machine. WIKING refines the miniature with a Polar Blue metallic paint finish in a clear coat. Added to this is the two-tone contrast of the black vinyl roof, typical of the 1960s.
The model makers are revitalizing the time-honored shapes of the first Opel Commodore Coupé. Its prototype was launched in 1967 as an upgrade of the famous Rekord. Opel was well aware of the attention this racy achievement attracted and equipped the sporty sedan-coupé with powerful six-cylinder engines. Contemporaries fondly remember the two-tone design, which further enhanced the eye-catching effect. From 1968 to 1982, the model enjoyed popularity among WIKING fans before being discontinued. Now it returns in a refined form. The body is painted in polar blue metallic with a clear coat finish. The roof and rear pillars are printed in black. The chassis is painted silver, with a black interior and steering wheel. The rims and side trim on the window surrounds, wheel arches, and doors, including the handles, are silver-plated. The rear features red taillights and silver trim. Elaborate hand-painting to blacken the radiator grille and silver the headlights and auxiliary lights.
