With the SwitchPilot V2.0 we present to you an improved version of our well proven accessory decoder. It is a robust multi protocol switch and accessory decoder for controlling up to 4 solenoid accessories (e.g. points) or 8 loads such uncoupling ramps or incandescent lamps (e.g. street lighting, lighting of buildings or points). Due to its intelligent software it can be operated with either DCC or Motorola\u00ae.<\/p>\n
Operating modes
\nThe SwitchPilot can be operated with DCC and Motorola\u00ae. It is compatible to the DCC standard and is triggered by accessory commands. In Motorola\u00ae mode the possible addresses range from 01 \u2013 127. The digital protocol is detected automatically.<\/p>\n
Functionality
\nThe SwitchPilot can either be powered by the digital command station or by a separate transformer supplying AC or DC. You may connect up to 4 solenoid motors by any of the known manufacturers to its 8 transistor outputs with a maximum continuous current of 1A. In order to prevent blowing the coil of a solenoid without end position contacts the switch-on time can be adjusted separately for each output from 0.1 sec to 1 second. The SwitchPilot behaves in this mode k83 compatible.
\nAlternatively you may choose to configure each output as a continuous output. This is useful for operating daylight signals, streetlights, lighting of buildings or points. Effects such as fade-in \/ fade-out (\u201cZoom\u201d) or blinking lights assist you in realizing prototypical signal aspects or warning lights at level crossings. The SwitchPilot handles the most important properties of the well known k84 decoder.<\/p>\n
Servo control
\nThe SwitchPilot V2.0 can do more: in addition to the 4 transistor outputs it can control two conventional RC servos. Speed of movement as well as the end positions can be individually programmed. This facilitates particularly prototypical, slow and powerful point motors regardless of the brand of track system. This is especially valuable for driving semaphore signals or the gates at level crossings. If so desired, the servo pulse can be turned off once the end position has been reached. The power supply to the servo can also be interrupted in order to prevent the humming of some low cost servos.<\/p>\n
Feedback
\nThe SwitchPilot can, as the ideal \u201cpartner\u201d of the ECoS, provide real feedback of the actual setting of the points. This requires mechanical preparation of the point respectively the point motor: finally you have certainty that your point is really set in the desired position! <\/p>\n
Setting parameters
\nThe SwitchPilot can be flexibly programmed: on the one hand it supports all DCC programming modes including POM (Programming on the Main). Provided there is a command station with a programming output, all settings can be monitored and adjusted. Alternatively you may enter the address also with the aid of the programming button mounted directly on the SwitchPilot: press the button \u2013 trigger a switch command at the command station \u2013 done!<\/p>\n
SwitchPilot Extension
\nDo you need some relay outputs in addition to the servo outputs, since you intend to polarize the frog, for instance, or switch off the track voltage within the signal line section? Then you should extend your SwitchPilot Servo with the SwitchPilot Extension relay module: one of its four twin-relay contacts switches simultaneously to the servo and can be used for potential-free load swichting \u2013 ideal for tricky circuitry!<\/p>\n
Protection
\nAs it has been the case with our loco decoders, in the design phase\u00b4s greatest emphasis has been placed upon near indestructibility of the SwitchPilot Servo decoders. That means ESU quality is also built into our stationary decoders, now and in the future! You can rely on it!<\/p>\n
Future proof
\nThe internal software of the SwitchPilot V2.0 can be replaced by a more up-to-date version at any time. This is done with the aid of the ESU LokProgrammer. That way everything remains current in case of changes in the standards and you may also profit from new functions.<\/p>\n
Operational modes:\tNMRA\/DCC \u201eAccessory decoder\u201c compatible. Motorola\u00ae with up to 127 addresses. K83 compatible. Supplied by the digital center or separates standard DC power supply up to 24V DC.
\nTransistor outputs:\t8 Transistor outputs, 1.5A (2.0A) load per output , grouped by 4 double outputs. Outputs short circuit proof and protected against overload. Selectable switch pulse length from 0.1s to 1.0 s (or continous output). Flashing or cross fading also available.
\nServo Control:\tControls up to 2 RC-Servos (Graupner\u00ae JR\u00ae or Futaba\u00ae compatible), 1.0ms to 2.0mS pulses, positive. Separately adjustuble lever speed and end positions.
\nFeedback:\t8 feedback inputs, detects actual position of the switch points. Display on ECoS screen. RailCom\u00ae transmitter for sending back the data to the command station
